Ben's Boat Repair
Dear Boat Owners,
Since closing in October 2016, we have kept our eye on the industry, the economy, and the changing climate conditions. We find the conditions are still unfavorable economically, and are disappointed by the industry's lack of progressive innovations.
Consumer demand often drives progress and innovation. Many consumers seem to be unaware of the incredible innovations happening around the world, so we have decided to use this space to increase your awareness of the alternatives to gasoline.
Imagine owning a boat that requires no oil changes, fuel stabilizers, or winterizing. Imagine never paying marina fuel prices ever again. Imagine never trashing another engine because of ethanol damage.
"Rainbow water" is bad for the environment. We can no longer be complacent or complicit in the destruction on the planet. I can no longer look into the eyes of your children and grandchildren without feeling shame.
If that makes me a "tree hugging liberal", I'm okay with that.
Love,
The Wench

Crew Manifest
We be the small and humble crew of Ben's Boat Repair.
Captain Pickles
Our Fearless Captain graduated from Wyotech in 2003 and worked as an Automotive Technician until he decided that working on boats was a lot more fun. He has an almost magickal talent for diagnosing electrical and driveability problems, especially intermittent ones.
The Swabby
This position is currently not available...we can't afford to hire right now.
This is a part-time seasonal independent contractor position with flexible scheduling. Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic skills required. Properly fitting life jacket and Boater Education Certification (if born after Sept. 1993) required. Driver's License, tow vehicle, insurance, and your own tools prefered but not required. Pay depends on experience and entrance test grade.
The Wench
The Wench is our Business Manager, Marketing Department, Social Media Manager, Accountant, Interpreter, Service Writer, and so much more. If you need something, talk to her. Email or text is best, she's gaining her deafness and sometimes has trouble understanding voice calls.
The Cabin Boy
This position is an UNPAID INTERNSHIP. This is an apprentice position available to anyone 16 or older who has their Boater Education Certification and a properly fitting lifejacket. Scheduling is sorta flexible within the restrictions of labor laws and the Captain's availability. Promotion to Swabby contingent on knowledge gained, skills developed, and perfomance.
